The 2019 vision restores degraded ecosystems, fights deforestation and soil erosion, expands forest cover, improves air and water quality, and creates green jobs.
Under his leadership, Ethiopia has planted 48 billion seedlings, uniting millions of citizens, national defense members, and security forces. The rainy season campaign ranks among earth’s largest tree-planting programs, planting fruit trees, fodder crops, fuel wood species, and ornamental plants for conservation, food security, urban beautification, climate resilience, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable natural resource development.
