A new ZITTO Cafe is opening in Hillcrest this week, bringing fresh food, coffee and the brand’s first drive-through cafe-restaurant to Adelaide’s north-east.
The new venue will officially open at 483 North East Road, Hillcrest, with a grand opening celebration on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May. To mark the launch, ZITTO Cafe Hillcrest will be offering 50 per cent off the entire menu across both days.
The Hillcrest site marks a new step for the growing Adelaide cafe group. Unlike ZITTO’s existing locations, which are generally found within shopping centres or larger precincts, the new Hillcrest cafe is a standalone cafe and restaurant with dine-in, takeaway and drive-through options.
A ZITTO spokesperson says the new cafe has been created with the same energy and consistency the brand is already known for, while giving the team room to expand what the cafe can offer.
“We really want to retain the brand value and consistency, so it will feel really consistent with our other ZITTO locations,” she said.
“The difference with Hillcrest is that it is an independent store outside of a complex. It is a big venue, it has a drive-through, and it is our first drive-through ZITTO cafe-restaurant.”
The team also hopes the Hillcrest venue will become a place for more than quick coffees and casual meals, with a new focus on functions thanks to the much larger space.
For the owners, the new opening is rooted in good food, genuine service and a welcoming place for people to come together.
“I’m very excited to serve the community,” the representative said. “I have a huge passion for community, and I love to feed people.”
With a background in social work and medicine, the owner says her move into hospitality has been shaped by a desire to care for people in a different way.
“For me, food is a stress buster,” she said. “When I’m not having a very nice time, I always feel like, let’s go and have some nice food. I really want to make people happy by serving quality food.”
The new cafe will continue ZITTO’s focus on “traditional Aussie cafe food, coffee, warm service and a lively atmosphere.” The cafe’s existing spots serve up classics including avocado toast, bagels, brekkie burritos, and the cafe’s own eggs benedict. We’re told to expect more of what ZITTO customers know and love at the new Hillcrest location.
ZITTO is also preparing to open another location in Northpark later this year, with that site currently under construction and expected to open around late July or August.
For now, the focus is on Hillcrest, where the doors will open this week with two days of launch celebrations.
