Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attacked the opposition, stating that in a democracy, the path to power flows from the mandate of the people and not through chaos. Reacting to remarks citing Bangladesh youth protests as inspiration for movements in India, he asserted that forces dreaming of regime change will not succeed and described it as an attempt to hand tools of anarchy to the youth. Emphasising that youth cannot be used to quench a thirst for power, he noted that the public has recognised villains in politics and the nation will never allow such conspiracies to succeed. The remarks follow calls for fresh protests and controversies over regime change statements.
