Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said voting on the Women’s Reservation Bill will begin in the House at 4 PM today, urging all parties to support the legislation. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for consensus, asserting there should be no confusion as the government has clarified that no state will be affected. Rijiju added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed concerns, particularly regarding South India, and stressed that ensuring 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies is a collective responsibility. He also said the government has reached out to leaders across parties, including Congress, TMC, DMK, and SP, seeking their support.
