The New England Patriots’ 2026 season is, unfortunately, not off to the best start.
The same cannot be said for our new app, and it’s all thanks to you.
A month ago we announced the release of the app, which you can find here or by searching “SB Nation” in your neighborhood app store. Quite a few of you have downloaded it over the past month and have been using it.
The goal with this app was to make it easier to join the community, and specifically comment, read the comments, and make your own posts, as well as keeping all the community posts — articles on the front page and your Feed posts alike — front and center.
The results so far have exceeded our expectations. In fact, it has helped us set a new all-time record for comments this month across all of SB Nation’s communities.
On behalf of the staff here at Pats Pulpit, and SB Nation as a whole, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you.
You can put all the thought in the world into an app, if nobody uses it, it makes no difference. Luckily for us, and hopefully for you as well, it has been used extensively.
One of the most exciting new features is the game chat. It makes it easier to follow along with the barrage of comments that come during games and gets to the heart of why so many of you spend your game days with the rest of our community in the first place. Faster-loading comments and notifications when someone replies to your comments and Feed posts are creating a more fun experience (that, in my personal humble experience, you are simply not going to get anywhere else).
In addition to the game chat, also wanted to elevate the community’s contributions by putting your Feed posts inside one stream alongside all the other articles from the site (if you prefer just reading our traditional front page articles, there’s an option at the top to do that, too). To that end, more people have seen your posts and more people have commented on them.
And there have been a lot of comments, actually: we’ve set single-day commenting records three different times already since the season started — and that’s despite the Patriots playing some uninspiring football, to say the least.
So, thank you again for making us part of your fandom. And here’s to some more successful game threads in the very near future!
If you haven’t checked the SB Nation App out yet, it’s never too late: you can get it for iOs or Android. And if you’re not an app user, that’s OK! We’re glad to have you following along in whatever way makes you most comfortable.
