Mihir Ahuja is set to explore a different genre with Netflix’s upcoming film Dilwali Diwali after being part of the military drama Operation Safed Sagar. Produced by Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), the film also stars Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli and centres on family relationships and the emotions surrounding Diwali.

Speaking about the shift between the two projects, Mihir said Dilwali Diwali allowed him to explore a different side of his acting. “As an actor, I’m always excited by the opportunity to step into a world that feels different from what I’ve done before. After being part of something as intense as Operation Safed Sagar, Dilwali Diwali gave me the chance to explore a completely different emotional space,” he said.
The actor added that stories about families and relationships appeal to him because of their relatability. He also spoke about the process of understanding his character and exploring aspects of his performance that audiences may not have seen before. “There’s something very special about stories rooted in family, relationships and the festive spirit because they are so relatable. What interested me was discovering the nuances of this character and finding a side of myself that audiences may not have seen before,” Mihir said.

Mihir said every role gives him an opportunity to learn more about the character he is playing as well as his own approach to acting. He hopes the film’s familiar situations and emotions will resonate with viewers. “For me, every character is an opportunity to discover something new, both about the person I’m portraying and about myself as an actor. What makes Dilwali Diwali exciting is the chance to connect with audiences through emotions and situations that feel familiar, yet still have their own surprises,” he said.
The actor also expressed hope that viewers would respond to his performance in the film. “I hope people enjoy seeing me in this different space and connect with the character in their own way,” he added.
With Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli joining the cast, Dilwali Diwali brings together performers known for their work across film and television. The film’s family-oriented story marks a change in genre for Mihir following his involvement in Operation Safed Sagar.
