Big Brother Australia has unveiled its 14 housemates for 2026, with a secret sibling pairing, connections to former contestants and some big personalities entering the show’s new Brisbane home.
Monday night’s premiere also delivered an unexpected welcome, with missing beds, running water and even the Diary Room chair leaving the new arrivals sleeping on the floor.
The new season brings a purpose-built home in Hemmant, a new stage and a longer run, with viewers able to follow the housemates through six nights of television each week and a 24/7 live stream.

Hosted again by Mel Tracina, the series offers a $100,000 prize, with more twists, nominations and evictions promised across the extended run.
But beyond the new setting and familiar format, this year’s cast raises an interesting question about the show’s casting direction, with a younger line-up, an established social media following and two contestants with family ties to previous housemates.
Here’s who’s entering the house.
Meet the Big Brother Australia 2026 housemates
Anita, 47, Tasmania
Travel advisor Anita is the sister of two-time Big Brother winner Reggie Bird, giving her an immediate connection to one of the show’s most recognisable former contestants. She’s hoping to make her own mark, bringing a love of solo travel, skateboarding and spontaneous adventures into the house.
Having spent years caring for her parents, Anita sees the experience as an opportunity to do something for herself. Whether she can follow in her sister’s footsteps remains to be seen.

Austin, 22, Queensland
Carpenter Austin works alongside his father and brother in the family business, but he’s already bringing an established audience into the competition. The 22-year-old has built a substantial TikTok following through his online content, putting him among the younger contestants entering the house with an existing public profile.

Outside work, Austin enjoys surfing with mates and spending time at the pub. How his personality translates to life under constant surveillance will be part of the story.

Charity, 29, New South Wales
Charity grew up as one of 13 siblings after arriving in Australia as a seven-year-old refugee from Kenya, having been born into a Sudanese family. She believes her experience growing up in a large family will help her adjust to communal living.
Working as a door-to-door field manager, Charity puts family, faith and fun at the centre of her life. She’s also confident she was born for television and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

Ebony, 23, Victoria
Self-made entrepreneur Ebony is bringing plenty of confidence into the house and has no intention of keeping her opinions to herself. She believes her brains, looks and personality give her an advantage, even if her strong views don’t always sit well with others.
Romance isn’t her priority. Having never been kissed, Ebony says she’s focused on the $100,000 prize, with little patience for habits including loud chewing and slow walkers.

Harmon, 29, Queensland
Harmon has worked across mining, cryptocurrency and podcasting before becoming an IT salesman. He’s also a self-described pot-stirrer who enjoys pushing people’s buttons and seeing how others react.
Raised in a strict immigrant household, Harmon says he’s grown up fearless and ready to challenge those around him. He could be one to watch as alliances form and tensions rise.

Heath, 23, Queensland
Engineering student Heath is a man of many interests, from surfing and travelling to fronting a band, sewing and making his own jewellery. His outgoing personality should help him connect with other housemates, but there’s more to him than his easy-going exterior.
Described as a golden retriever in human form, Heath is also strategically minded, which could prove useful as the competition progresses.

Kyrah, 25, New South Wales
Secondary Drama and English teacher Kyrah is loud, clever and unapologetically herself. Teaching at the school she once attended, she’s accustomed to commanding a room and has little chance of going unnoticed.
Newly single after a five-year relationship, Kyrah is fiercely competitive but notoriously disorganised. Her memory for random facts could also come in handy if Big Brother puts the housemates through a trivia challenge.

Marshy, 24, South Australia
Andrew, better known as Marshy, is Toyota’s reigning forklift salesman in Australia and now has his sights set on winning Big Brother.
A lifelong local AFL player, he’s also a serial dater who believes his gift of the gab can help him win people over. The self-described “Italian Jason Momoa” has an expanding collection of budgie smugglers and plenty of confidence heading into the competition.

Matthew, 37, Victoria
Property investor Matthew believes his larger-than-life personality is his greatest asset and has no plans to tone it down for the cameras.
He’s happy to debate different opinions, although he won’t appreciate anyone telling him what to think. When conversation alone isn’t enough, Matthew can also turn to his other talents, including rapping and breakdancing.

Matty, 39, Western Australia
Former FIFO miner Matty describes himself as a “textbook Aussie bogan”, but there’s more to him than his laid-back exterior.
He holds a Mining Engineering degree and an MBA, and enjoys proving people wrong when they underestimate him. A father of two young girls, Matty considers himself a loyal mate with a quick wit and a good sense of humour.

Pam, 61, South Australia
Pam is the oldest housemate this season, but she’s not entering the competition to sit on the sidelines.
Outspoken, cheeky and fiercely competitive, she’s determined to prove age is no barrier to winning. She’s also connected to the show’s history as the mother of former housemate Kieran Davidson, who received the most nominations in season 12.
With a sharp strategic mind and a willingness to call things out, Pam could have an advantage over contestants who underestimate her.

Pheobe, 26, Queensland
Pheobe has spent 11 years working at Bunnings, but her ambitions extend well beyond the café. A former musical theatre kid and self-appointed court jester, she’s a natural performer who loves breaking into song and dance.
She’s also obsessed with ABBA, has a direct way of communicating and admits she’s had little luck in love. Whether Big Brother helps her find romance or simply gives her a new audience for her antics, Pheobe is determined to make the most of her time in the house.

Ryan, 27, New South Wales
Garden-centre manager Ryan is proudly gay and Australian Italian, with a larger-than-life personality and a sense of humour that leaves little off limits.
He describes himself as having the mouth of a tradie and the heart of his Nonna, and has an unapologetic obsession with Susan Boyle. Beneath the jokes, Ryan is also a deeply caring person who has experienced significant loss.
His biggest secret, however, is that he’s entering the house alongside his sister Tahlia. The pair will need to convince their fellow contestants they’re strangers, despite having a significant head start on getting to know one another.

Tahlia, 25, Victoria
Tahlia is joining her older brother Ryan in the house, although the other contestants aren’t supposed to know they’re related.
Working across horticulture, gardening and support work, she has experience connecting with people from different backgrounds. Her dry sense of humour and ability to turn strangers into friends could help her settle in quickly.
Tahlia will need to balance building relationships with keeping her sibling connection under wraps. If the secret comes out, the pair could find themselves facing questions about what else they’ve been keeping from their fellow housemates.

Big Brother Australia continues tonight, Tuesday, at 7.30pm on 10, airing Monday to Friday at 7.30pm and Sundays at 7:00pm.
