Adelaide’s sandwich obsession isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and the newest spot at One Sneaky Cheetah in Campbelltown is bringing a little bit of nostalgia to lunchtime.

Say hello to Sneaky Sandwiches, the newest daytime dining offering from a team that knows its way around a good pizza.

The idea came about when the team decided it was time to shake things up during the day, with head chef Nicolas Genovese recognising that while pizza is always a good idea, it’s not necessarily the go-to for lunch.

“We’ve got 6 sandwiches at the moment, loaded with homemade and fresh ingredients.”

And after four to five months of recipe and taste testing, and getting all the little details just right, Sneaky Sandwiches has officially opened its doors.

Each sandwich is piled high with fresh ingredients, house-made fillings and plenty of delicious extras, all tucked between slices of freshly baked, locally sourced focaccia.

And if you’re a sucker for a good Italian deli sandwich, you’re in luck. The deli meats option comes loaded with soppressata, mortadella and provolone, and according to Nicolas, it’s already proving to be the crowd favourite.

Then there’s the Reuben, stacked with house-made pastrami and Russian dressing, alongside the roasted porchetta. Pizza fans might recognise another familiar flavour on the menu, with the team’s popular buffalo chicken pizza getting a sandwich makeover.

Rounding out the line-up is a pesto chicken sandwich with house-made pesto, along with a vegetarian option.

And because one good sandwich is never quite enough, there’s also a monthly special in the works, with new flavour combinations set to make an appearance each month.

You can have your sandwich fresh or toasted, and each one arrives in a retro diner-style basket with a packet of Smith’s chips on the side for an old-school lunchbox effect.

The atmosphere is just as laid-back as the menu, with the familiar yellow branding from the team’s pizza operation getting a brighter, more playful daytime twist.

Outside, there’s a sunny dining area with umbrellas and festoon lighting, perfect for pulling up a chair and enjoying a long lunch.

“We’ve got a couple of really intimate booths, music and an arcade machine.”

There’s also a range of drinks, including alcoholic options, if you’re in the mood to make a proper outing of it.

And while Adelaide has certainly embraced the whole ‘sando’ craze, the team is keeping things refreshingly simple when it comes to the name.

“We’re stuck on calling it sandwiches, not sandos. We don’t want to be like all the other places in Adelaide,” Nicolas said.

With positive opening-day feedback already rolling in, Sneaky Sandwiches is off to a promising start.

So whether you’re after a quick bite between errands, a relaxed lunch with friends or simply another excuse to indulge your sandwich obsession, there’s a new spot to add to your lunchtime rotation.
