The Mansfield man admitted to sexually abusing his underage female relatives and five of their friends, prosecutors said.

A Mansfield man pleaded guilty Tuesday to more than 40 charges involving the sexual abuse of his underage female relatives and their friends, according to prosecutors.

DeAngelo Johnson, 40, admitted guilt in Bristol County Superior Court on 12 counts of aggravated rape of a child, one count of rape, five counts of assault to rape a child, 20 counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, five counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 and over, and one count of enticing a child under 16, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. He was indicted on the charges in June 2025, court records show.

Johnson was sentenced to 25 to 35 years in state prison followed by 15 years of probation, prosecutors said in a press release. The sentence was closer to the Commonwealth’s request of 30 to 45 years compared to Johnson’s request of 10 to 15 years.

Between September 2017 and November 2024, Johnson repeatedly molested and raped two “close female relatives” when they were between the ages of 10 and 16, the DA’s office said. The assaults took place at homes in Norton and Mansfield.

Johnson also repeatedly molested and abused his relatives’ five female friends, all of whom were under the age of 14. He often abused them at night while they were asleep, according to prosecutors.

“The defendant is clearly a predator and has a very disturbed and perverted mind. The sentences imposed by the court, totaling 35 years are well deserved,” Bristol District Attorney Thomas Quinn said in the release. “I commend the victim’s courage in coming forward and persevering through this most difficult ordeal. I hope and pray that they can move forward with their lives.”

Johnson’s attorneys, Kathryn Blythe and Frank Camera, did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday night.
