The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), through a statement on Thursday, informed that the buffer of Durgam Cheruvu and heritage rock guidelines were duly considered by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) before layout approval was given.
The industrial development body responded to the news story titled ‘TGIIC lists Durgam Cheruvu Heritage hillocks for auction’ published in these columns on Thursday, which said that the survey numbers where the plotting was done were in the Heritage Rock precincts protected by the HMDA zonal regulations, which was also the catchment of Durgam Cheruvu.
The statement said the layout was put for auction in 2007-08, and based on the Heritage Rock Preservation committee guidelines, layout was approved in the year 2017. Subsequently for comprehensive development of the layout area, the TGIIC had submitted proposals to HMDA, which were approved duly considering the heritage rock guidelines and buffer area of Durgam Cheruvu, the statement said.
Specific preservation areas, rock protection measures, buffer zones, and Durgam Cheruvu eco-system safeguards have been rigorously defined and adhered to, it said.
