The Yadgir district Koli-Kabbaliga community has warned that Congress and Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar would face a strong resistance in the next elections if the party failed to induct any of the legislators from the community into the Cabinet.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mallikarjun Gosi, district president of the community, said that the Congress party high command had meted out injustice to the Koli-Kabbaliga Community by replacing MLA Mankal Vaidya with S.S. Mallikarjun at the last minute.
“The community, which has more than 60 lakh population in the State, supported the party for decades and voted its candidates undoubtedly. Despite a massive support and loyality, the party high command has not given a chance to the community’s legislators,” Mr. Gosi said.
He said that the community was observing the party activities very closely and teach it a good lesson at an appropriate time if it did not recorrect its mistake by inducting a community leader into the State Cabinet.
Mr. Gosi also alleged that former Minister Baburao Chinchansur was defeated by the ‘hidden hands’ within the party to break his continuous success in electoral politics.
“We will hold awareness programmes in the rural areas among our community people to explain how the Congress betrayed them for the past several years and raise our voices against the Congress and its negligence attitude towards Koli-Kabbaligas,” he said.
Mallu Pujari, Ningappa, Laxman Pujari, Mounesh, Basavarajappa and others were present.
