For Anshula Kapoor’s wedding ceremony, Janhvi Kapoor chose a custom ivory lehenga by Anamika Khanna, leaning into a retro-inflected take on wedding guest dressing. The look brought together a densely embroidered blouse, a voluminous lehenga, matching dupatta and a couture bag, also by Khanna.
The blouse came with a sweetheart neckline and short sleeves, covered in metallic embroidery, sequins and beadwork. Floral appliqués in pink and green sat across the neckline and bodice, giving colour to the ivory base. The lehenga skirt carried the same floral embroidery through scattered leaf motifs, while a broad gold border ran along the dupatta, picking up the detailing on the blouse.
Styled by Meagan Concessio with Shubhra Sharma, Kapoor’s jewellery gave the look its wedding-guest grandeur, from the kaan chain woven through her loose curls to the stacked bangles, rings and haathphool. Her necklace and earrings were by Anmol Sandhu, the kaan chain, bangles and rings by Maya Sanghavi Jewels, and the haathphool by Archana Aggarwal Timeless Jewellery. Together, the pieces combined polki-style settings, pearls and coloured stones against the ivory and pastel palette of the lehenga.
Makeup artist Riviera Lynn gave her softly flushed cheeks, sculpted brows and a glossy nude lip, while hairstylist Nikita Menon worked her hair into loose centre-parted curls, with the kaan chain framing her open hair.
From Vogue‘s fashion desk:
“Janhvi Kapoor’s look has a lovely retro undertone to it—a great aesthetic to recreate for the upcoming wedding season. Brides or wedding guests can turn to this look for inspiration and turning heirloom organza or any sheer sari into a lehenga with a voluminous underskirt for a look that is sustainable and stylish,” says Ashwini Arun Kumar, Fashion Features Editor, Vogue India.
