Janhvi Kapoor made a compelling case for Indian wedding guest dressing throughout her sister Anshula Kapoor’s wedding festivities. From a custom ivory lehenga by Anamika Khanna for the wedding ceremony to a Banarasi silk sari by Manish Malhotra for the reception, the actor wore a range of traditional silhouettes. For actor Akanksha Ranjan’s wedding celebrations, Kapoor shifted gears, leaning into maximalism with a head-to-toe gold ensemble.
The look centred around a sculptural 24-karat gold-plated bustier from Mumbai-based designer Suhani Parekh’s label Misho embossed with a tiger motif with eyes set in rubies. Kapoor paired the statement bodice with a draped metallic silk skirt from label That Antiquepiece by Yash Patil. A silk shawl finished with hand-knotted fringe details moonlighted as a dupatta for the look.
Stylist Meagan Concessio turned to maximalist accessories to wear with the look. A chunky gold choker from jewellery designer Surabhi Didwania’s label Motif featured Lord Krishna playing the flute, and was the highlight. She also gave the actor a stack of bangles and rings from the same brand, and jhumka style earrings and an embossed velvet handheld bag with crystal accents from designer Meera Mahadevia. For footwear, the actor chose embroidered heels from accessories designer Aprajita Toor.
Kapoor’s beauty look featured a luminous skin with glittering eyelids, dramatic lashes, blushed cheeks, pink lips and a diamond bindi, courtesy of Savleen Manchanda. Hairstylist Sourav Roy completed the look with a sleek centre-parted braid.
Misho has built a reputation for blurring the boundaries between jewellery and wearable art. Founded by designer Suhani Parekh, the Mumbai-based label has moved beyond jewellery into a multidisciplinary design house, creating sculptural garments and wearable objects that span skirts, trousers, blazers and polymer bodices. Misho’s creations have been worn by Beyoncé, Deepika Padukone, Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra, among others, cementing the label’s position on the global fashion scene.
