Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jane Lynch is scheduled to host the annual Boston Pops Firework Spectacular on July 4, while Tony Award winner Megan Hilty has been added to the cast of performers, the organization announced.

Among her many notable roles, Lynch is remembered as the blunt high school cheerleader coach, Sue Sylvester in “Glee” TV series.

Lynch recently played Sazz Patski in the television show “Only Murders In The Building,” which also scored Lynch another Emmy nomination, the organization said.

The Pops also announced Hilty has been added to the musically stacked set. The Broadway star won a Tony Award in 2025 for her originating role as Madeline Ashton in the comedy musical “Death Becomes Her,” the orchestra said.

Hilty will perform alongside Lainey Wilson, Chance The Rapper, and Trombone Shorty, among others.

“Our blockbuster lineup for July 4 just got even more spectacular with the addition of Jane Lynch and Megan Hilty,” Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart said.

Lockhart also noted that Hilty is a Fireworks Spectacular alum who performed in 2014, while Lynch performed at Symphony Hall in 2019.

“We can’t wait to see them again at this landmark event in Boston Pops history,” Lockhart said.

The Pops has hosted a free July 4 concert along the Charles River Esplanade since 1929, the Pops said.

Spectators can gain access to the event on July 4 at 12 p.m. It will be streamed on CNN All Access and broadcast locally on WHDH-TV Channel 7 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., according to the Pops.
