Vidhi Porwal and Yash Jain’s wedding brought together three distinct aesthetics, from the understated elegance of a white wedding to the rich heritage of Kashmiri-inspired details and the grandeur of Rajasthani royalty. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dipali Porwal, each celebration was thoughtfully envisioned to reflect the couple’s preferences, with personalised details and immersive settings lending the festivities their own character.
The white wedding embraced a romantic, European-inspired aesthetic, with a palette of white complemented by the natural greens of the surrounding landscape. Drawing inspiration from Roman architecture and the charm of Florence, the entrance featured a bell-ringing drinks station reminiscent of the city’s traditional wine windows. A pristine white backdrop framed the ceremony, offering a beautiful setting for sunset photographs, while an aisle lined with white flowers created a fairytale moment for the bride’s entry. The seating was equally considered, with the couple opting for round tables instead of conventional theatre-style arrangements to encourage a greater sense of involvement among their guests. They also personally curated the seating chart, ensuring everyone felt like an integral part of the celebration. “The couple wanted their guests to feel connected to the ceremony rather than simply watch it unfold. Every decision, from the seating arrangement to the floral aisle, was guided by that thought,” shares Dipali Porwal.
The mehndi celebrated Kashmir’s warmth and character through a setting inspired by the valley’s distinctive visual language. Low seating surrounded by Kashmiri carpets created an inviting, intimate atmosphere, while antique artefacts and traditional decorative pieces brought depth and authenticity to the décor. The rich patterns and textures of the carpets formed the centrepiece of the setting, transporting guests to the valley and lending the celebration a sense of cultural nostalgia. “The bride specifically wanted a low-seating arrangement with Kashmiri carpets and antique accents. We wanted the décor to feel as though it had been brought straight from the valley, with every element contributing to the experience,” says Dipali.
For the traditional pheras, the design took inspiration from the palaces of Jaipur and Udaipur, reimagined as a grand, regal setting. A majestic royal doorway marked the bride’s entrance, bringing her vision of walking into a palace to life. Elephants, pearl details and pink florals complemented the architectural elements, while the scale and intricacy of the décor lent the ceremony a sense of royal splendour. The installation was the culmination of six months of planning and meticulous execution, made all the more meaningful by the couple’s complete trust in the design team. “This was the closest setup to our hearts. We worked on it for six months, and when Vidhi and Yash saw the venue for the first time, they were moved to tears. Vidhi had always dreamed of making her entrance through a royal door, just as one would in a palace. Seeing that dream come to life made all the hard work worthwhile,” recalls Dipali Porwal.
