Harold Fannin Jr. gave a glowing review of what Jared Verse is already bringing to the Browns, both on and off the field.
Harold Fannin Jr. has seen enough of Jared Verse in Cleveland to know exactly what kind of teammate the Browns landed. The second-year tight end offered his read on the newly acquired pass rusher, praising both his vocal presence and his competitive edge early in training camp.
“He’s going to talk, which is good. He’s just pushing us to all be better and things like that,” Fannin told reporters Tuesday. “He’s a competitor, you can tell. He’s a dog. He’s going to do great things for our team.”

Verse arrived in Cleveland as the centerpiece return in one of the offseason’s most stunning trades. The Browns sent longtime star Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on June 1 in exchange for Verse and three draft picks, a move that reshaped both rosters and closed the book on Garrett’s era in Cleveland.
Verse, the 19th overall pick in the 2024 draft, enters his third NFL season after winning Defensive Rookie of the Year and earning back-to-back Pro Bowl selections with the Rams, recording 12 sacks, 124 tackles, and five forced fumbles across his first two seasons.
Verse played all 17 games for Los Angeles last year, finishing with 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. He has already earned praise from around the league for his physical style, previously revealing that respected veterans like Von Miller, Maxx Crosby, and Cameron Jordan singled out his power as among the best in the NFL during a film session.
The trade fits into a broader youth movement in Cleveland, where general manager Andrew Berry has reshaped the roster around a younger core. Verse, 25, now anchors a defense that also includes fellow young building blocks like Mason Graham and reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger, while Fannin himself broke out as a rookie last season, catching 72 passes for 731 yards and six touchdowns.
For a Browns team looking to turn the page after a difficult 2025 season, the early chemistry between Verse and his new teammates offers an encouraging sign that the roster overhaul is already paying dividends in the locker room, even before the regular season begins.
