Faisalabad Edge Past Peshawar in National T20 Cup Clash

Faisalabad edged past Peshawar by 15 runs in the 13th match of the National T20 Cup 2026 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, powered by Atiq-ur-Rehman’s blistering half-century and Afaq Afridi’s four-wicket haul.

Peshawar captain Iftikhar Ahmed opted to field first, but the decision backfired as Faisalabad posted a strong total of 170-9 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to Rehman’s explosive innings at the top of the order.

The opening batter scored a quick 72 off just 44 balls, striking 10 boundaries. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

Rehman received support from captain Muhammad Irfan Khan and all-rounder Mubasir Khan. Irfan contributed 32 runs, while Mubasir added a useful 27.

For Peshawar, Usman Khan and Mohammad Nawaz took two wickets each. Ihsanullah, Mohammad Shoaib and Israrullah claimed one wicket apiece.

Chasing a challenging target of 171, Peshawar’s batting lineup was bowled out for 155 in 19.5 overs, suffering their second defeat in three matches in the ongoing National T20 Cup 2026.

Middle-order batter Israrullah led the scoring for the home side with 47 runs from 40 balls. Nabi Gul followed with 43 off 39 deliveries.

Apart from them, only Mohammad Imran Jnr (18 not out), opener Abuzar Tariq and skipper Iftikhar Ahmed, who both scored 11, managed to reach double figures.

Afridi led Faisalabad’s bowling attack with four wickets for 38 runs in 3.5 overs. Shehzad Gul supported him with three wickets, while Zaman Khan and Momin Qamar picked up one wicket each.
