Next on the fashion month calendar is Milan, and with it, another round of spring summer 2027 collections to pore over. Milan is a city steeped in history, where some of the industry’s most long-standing houses get to make their case for the new season.
Already, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons have made a case for the knee length skirt at Prada. At Diesel, Glenn Martens has wrapped up his six-year tenure, with a collection celebrating togetherness, punctuated by an impromptu show by performers surreptitiously seated in the audience. Still to come is Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Versace, Jil Sander, Marni and Ferragamo, to name only a few. And over at Moschino, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo will make their debut as co-creative directors.

Brunello Cucinelli

Brunello Cucinelli’s Spring Summer 2027 collection was an ode to the House’s signature savoir-faire, albeit with a lighter, more relaxed sensibility. Sailor stripes, workwear and denim mingled with sheer organza, raffia and hand-worked crochet, while a palette of ivory, khaki and sun-warmed neutrals was punctuated by primary reds, blues and flashes of gold. There was something distinctly coastal about it all – polished, certainly, but with the kind of ease that suggests these are clothes intended to be lived in.
Roberto Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli resurrected some of its most iconic signature prints from the House’s archives for its #HouseOfPrints runway show in Milan. Clashing animal prints, textured skirts and reworked denim remained at the collection’s core – channelling that Y2K European party girl energy the House has become so synonymous with. Capri pants, zebra print thong heels and matching camisole sets completed the House’s deep-dive into the era.
Marni
Meryll Rogge’s latest for Marni was typically nonconformist, focussing on 60s-inspired silhouettes and a pastel palette of lilacs, buttery yellows, greys, browns and bold tangerines. There was something decidedly Twiggy-esque about the wardrobing, maybe mixed with the playfulness of a Penny Lane (and a few of her signature jacket silhouettes to boot). Invites were paper airplanes made in collaboration with Aula 9, and the runway set was divided by oversized, wooden scenography that was originally built the House’s Fall Winter 26 show, now refabricated – taken apart, cut into, hollowed out, and put back together – in a novel new configuration.
Fendi
For Fendi’s spring summer 2027 collection, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri found inspiration in legendary Italian popstar, Raffaella Carrà. Carrà’s influence could be felt everywhere – from visible undergarments peering out from beneath sheer layers, to fur stoles draped over shoulders. The set, too, was inspired by a televised performance between Carrà and fellow Italian singer-songwriter Adriano Celentano, with a multitude of mirrors refracting the lights.
Jil Sander
If you don’t have a corporate job, Jil Sander’s spring summer 2027 collection might inspire you to get one. Simone Belloti put sleek minimalism centre stage this season – pencils skirts, button downs, knitted minis, collarless jackets and blazers expertly cropped at the waist. As things progressed, they became a little more whimsical, both in colour and form, from a crushed satin shirt-dress, to billowing baby yellow gown.
Onitsuka Tiger
Onitsuka Tiger’s signature sporty chic vibe got a Western upgrade for spring summer 2027. The brand’s best-known silhouettes – graphic tees, striped trousers, sleek tailoring – were infused with fringe, western yoke shirts, and playful bows. Of course, footwear was also high on the agenda, with everything from low-profile ballerina flats, to knee-length boxing-style boots making their way down the runway.
Diesel
Glenn Martens signed off from Diesel with a celebration. It started before models had event entered the space, when performers secretly sitting among the audience suddenly began sensually embracing, then head banging (literally), transforming the space into something of an impromptu club. As for the clothes themselves, Martens returned to Diesel’s most iconic codes, with distressed denim, low-slung silhouettes, trompe l’oeil pieces and plenty of exposed skin. It was a suitably chaotic finale to his Diesel tenure.
Prada
Prada made a compelling case for the knee-length skirt this season. The silhouette appeared in everything from sheer fabrics and sequins to pleated and deconstructed versions, styled with tiny tops, oversized tees, crisp shirts and knitwear. The familiar proportions were continually disrupted, giving the everyday skirt a decidedly Prada treatment.
