Dubai Basketball will face Budućnost VOLI in the ABA League semifinals after the Montenegrin side came through their quarterfinal series against Cluj-Napoca.
Budućnost sealed their place in the last four by beating the Romanian club in Game 3 in Podgorica.
The result confirms Dubai’s next step in what has already been a strong first ABA League campaign. Dubai finished top of the regular season standings with a 21-3 record, which gives them home-court advantage for the semifinals.
The series will follow the same 1-1-1 format used in the quarterfinals. Dubai will host the opening game, travel for Game 2, then return home for Game 3 if the tie goes the distance.
Official dates and tip-off times have not yet been confirmed.
Dubai have carried local interest through the competition all season, with their home games giving UAE basketball a regular place on one of Europe’s leading regional league calendars.
The meeting with Budućnost now gives them a chance to reach the ABA League final in their debut season.
