Her doctoral research focused on recurrent miscarriage and recurrent implantation failure, two areas that continue to be central to her clinical practice.
Throughout her career, Dr. Coughlan has developed expertise across the full spectrum of fertility care, including IVF treatment, assisted reproductive technologies (ART), fertility preservation, egg freezing, oncofertility, unexplained infertility, complex fertility cases, and personalized fertility treatment planning. She also specializes in supporting patients undergoing IVF after previous unsuccessful treatment cycles.
Before relocating to the UAE in 2016, Dr. Coughlan served as the Medical Director of the National Oncofertility Centre at Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, where she led one of Ireland’s leading fertility preservation programs for cancer patients. Most recently, she was the Medical Director at ART Fertility Clinic in Dubai, where she played a key role in advancing fertility treatment and patient care.
