Donato (Dan) Ventura passed away on July 7, 2026, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, on February 9, 1960, to Anita (Quintiliani) Ventura and the late Pompeo Ventura. Beloved husband of Carla Ventura. Devoted brother of Maria Ventura. Supportive brother-in-law to Paula Heald. Caring father of stepdaughter Stephanie Caira and husband Peter, and grandson Gianluca. Cherished uncle of Anthony Ventura and wife Kelley, Kristina Banahan and husband Tim, Michael Ventura and wife Ariana, Kevin Barrucci and wife Annie, and Allison Barrucci, and many loving great nieces and a great nephew.

Donato was a longtime employee for over 35 years with the Boston Herald. He was well known as Danny V.

Visiting Hours in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave., Brighton, on Sunday, July 12th, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Columbkille Church, Brighton, on Monday, July 13th, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Newton Cemetery & Arboretum, 791 Walnut St., Newton Center.
