Dia Mirza’s wardrobe has made a staunch argument for organic textiles and handcrafted processes feeling chic and so-now. From linen separates to naturally dyed saris, her choices favour material honesty over machine-made shine. Her latest appearance kept that thread going. For a recent outing, the actor and environmental activist chose a brown sari from Studio Medium, a New Delhi-based label by textile specialist Riddhi Jain Satija, known for working with traditionalist processes such as hand-weaving and resist dyeing.

Mirza wore the Rhizo sari from the label’s vast offerings of technique-forward options. Named after the Greek word for root, the sari showcases root-inspired shibori patterns form across the length of the sari, mimicking an organic pattern of how roots grow beneath soil, which shifts naturally with the movement of the sari. The pallu brings another textural detail into focus, with root-inspired tassels extending across its width and reinforcing the botanical vocabulary at the edge of the garment. The colour story, too, is grounded in the natural world, drawing from soils and minerals through shades including clay, green shoot, loam, mineral peach, sand, patina and ivory. On Mirza, the tones translated into a soft, warm brown base marked by pale, bark-like streaks. She rounded off the drape with a sleeveless blouse in a neutral shade cut with a simple V neckline.
For jewellery, she turned to a sculptural choker composed of slim metallic strips, accompanied by matching earrings from Silverstreak. A delicate nose stud added another understated detail. Her makeup stayed within a neutral palette, with softly defined eyes and a natural lip, and her long hair was worn open in loose waves.
