South Western Railway (SWR) will operate unreserved DEMU special trains between Hosapete Junction and Arsikere Junction starting Friday to clear the extra rush of passengers. These special trains will be operated till November 27.
The special services, numbered 07343 and 07344, will run five days a week, Monday to Friday, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
Train No 07343, the Hosapete-Arsikere DEMU Special will leave Hosapete at 6.30 a.m. and reach Arsikere at 2.20 p.m. The train will halt at several stations, including Tungabhadra Dam, Vyasanakeri, Vyasa Colony, Mariyamanahalli, Hampapatnam, Hagaribommanahalli, Kotturu, Harapanahalli, Davangere, Chikjajur Junction, Holalkere, Hosdurga Road, Ajjampur, Birur Junction, Kadur and Banavar.
In the return direction, Train No 07344, the Arsikere-Hosapete DEMU Special will leave Arsikere at 2.30 p.m. and arrive at Hosapete at 9.30 p.m. the same day.
It will halt at the same stations in the reverse direction also.
The Railways said that the special service is being introduced to cater to the increased demand from passengers travelling between the two destinations and intermediate stations.
The trains will have an eight-coach DEMU rake and will operate as unreserved services.
