The Haitian Football Federation has officially named Spanish coach David Badía Cequier as the new head coach of Haiti’s men’s national team, the Grenadiers.
The appointment marks a new chapter for Haiti’s national team as the Grenadiers look ahead to their next international challenges. Badía takes over following the departure of Sébastien Migné.
The 51-year-old coach brings experience from across European football. He spent several years working within the FC Barcelona academy and has coached professionally in Spain, Turkey, Cyprus and Poland. He also holds a UEFA Pro Licence, one of the highest coaching qualifications in European football.
Badía’s coaching résumé includes time with clubs such as Antalyaspor in Turkey, AEK Larnaca and Ethnikos Achnas in Cyprus, and Lechia Gdańsk in Poland.
Now, his focus turns to Haiti.
The new head coach will inherit a Grenadiers squad that has continued to grow on the international stage, with a mix of experienced players and emerging Haitian talent. His job will be to build on that progress, develop the team and prepare Haiti for the competitions ahead.
For Haitian football fans, the appointment represents more than a change on the sideline. It is the start of a new era for the Grenadiers—and another opportunity to build toward a stronger future for Haitian football.
David Badía is officially in. Now, the work begins.
