Abu Dhabi Sports Council has announced the launch of the Core X Fitness League, a seven-stage fitness competition that will be held across the emirate.
The league, organised with Palms Sports, will start at Khabib Gym on Yas Island on May 2, 2026. It will finish on Fahid Island on July 25, when the overall champions will be crowned.
Competitors will take on different stages across Abu Dhabi, including beach settings and city landmarks. The format is designed to test fitness across changing conditions, rather than in one fixed venue.
“Through such initiatives, we aim to promote a culture of sport as a daily lifestyle and encourage community members to adopt sustainable healthy habits.”
After the opening round on Yas Island, the league will move to Al Dhafra Region and then Al Ain Region. The fourth round returns to Abu Dhabi, before Al Ain hosts the fifth stage. The final two rounds will take place in Abu Dhabi in July.
The overall prize will be awarded at the final stage, with eligibility subject to competitors taking part in all seven rounds.
Talal Al Hashemi, executive director of the Events Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the league is part of ADSC’s plan to offer sports events that reach different parts of the community.
He said the varied locations should give participants a different challenge at each stage, while encouraging more people to make sport part of their daily routine.
“Through such initiatives, we aim to promote a culture of sport as a daily lifestyle and encourage community members to adopt sustainable healthy habits, in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision to enhance quality of life,” Al Hashemi said.
“We look forward to wide participation in the Core X League, which represents an ideal platform to test physical abilities in diverse environments while offering participants unique personal experiences.”
The event adds another community fitness series to Abu Dhabi’s sports calendar, with rounds spread across the capital, Al Dhafra and Al Ain.
