Adelaide shoppers will soon be able to get their hands on one of Australia’s most talked-about fashion labels in person, with Henne confirming its first South Australian boutique is on the way.
The Melbourne-born label, co-founded by Nadia Bartel, is heading to King William Road in Hyde Park, bringing its signature denim, tailoring, knitwear and elevated everyday staples to Adelaide.
Henne has begun teasing the new boutique to its community, with the Adelaide store slated to arrive in November.
It’s an opening South Australian fans have been waiting on for some time, and Adelaide has actually been on Henne’s radar well before this week’s announcement.
Last year, Bartel spoke publicly about the label’s plans to continue expanding beyond Melbourne and Sydney, saying more stores around Australia were a major focus for the business.
Later, while discussing Henne’s newest Melbourne boutique, she went one step further and specifically named Adelaide as one of the cities the team wanted to move into, alongside Perth and Brisbane.
The Adelaide opening marks another step in what has been a rapid bricks-and-mortar expansion for the brand.
Henne was founded in 2019 by Bartel, her sister Michelle Ring and their friend Laura Broque. The name comes from the Swedish word for “her”, while the founders describe the label as combining Nordic sensibility, Italian expression and an effortless Australian approach to dressing.
While Henne built much of its early following online, its physical stores have increasingly become a major part of the brand.
Its boutiques also go beyond simply picking something off the rack, with Henne offering complimentary styling appointments covering everything from finding the right denim fit to full wardrobe refreshes. The brand currently lists boutiques in Prahran and Armadale in Melbourne, as well as Paddington in Sydney.
For Adelaide fans who have previously had to shop the collections online, the Hyde Park opening will finally mean being able to try Henne’s weekly releases and much-loved denim in person.
An exact opening date is still to come, but Henne Adelaide is expected to open this November.
