Charles Spencer and Cat Jarman have said yes. The couple, who went public with their relationship in 2024, swore eternal love in Arizona during a very intimate ceremony away from English castles and aristocratic residences.
This is the fourth marriage for the ninth Earl Spencer, brother of the late Lady Diana. Spencer, 61, wed Jarman, 43, on Friday, confirming the event in a joint statement. “We both feel incredibly fortunate to have been on a path from being colleagues to friendship to deep love and an unbreakable bond,” they said in remarks shared with People. “Every stage of our relationship has been accompanied by laughter and we share the same passion for life.”
Earl Spencer split from his third wife, Karen Gordon, in 2024. “I just want to devote myself to all my children, and to my grandchildren,” he told the Mail on Sunday at the time. “I wish Karen every happiness in the future.” He first married model Victoria Lockwood in 1989, welcoming four children: daughter Kitty, now 34, twins Amelia and Eliza, 33, and Louis, Viscount Althorp, 31 before their 1997 divorce. In 2001, Spencer wed publicist Caroline Freud, with whom he had 22-year-old Edmund and 19-year-old Lara. Their divorce was finalized in 2007.
On her wedding day, Jarman diverged from the classic white wedding dress, instead opting for a baby blue gown with a bohemian flair. There was no traditional train, bodice, or scrap of lace to be found. Instead, Jarman chose a graceful pleated, ankle-length creation featuring a double neckline—front and back—embellished with a few gold jewel details. She paired the look with gold platform sandals ideal for an Arizona-set ceremony.
While Jarman veered from the bridal norm, Spencer’s classic suit with a light blue shirt was far more standard. However, the typically buttoned-up aristocrat did forgo a tie—perhaps a sign that he’s embraced a looser, more carefree kind of love the fourth time around.
