Can FARMER WANTS A WIFE cowboy Dylan find true love?

Meet ‘larrikin’ rodeo cowboy Farmer Dylan as he searches for love on Farmer Wants A Wife

A six-foot-tall rodeo cowboy with a passion for farming, sketching and rescuing orphaned wildlife is preparing to put his heart on the line when Farmer Wants A Wife returns to Seven and 7plus.

Farmer Dylan Scarborough, a 24-year-old sheep farmer from Cherry Gardens in the Adelaide Hills, is among the new crop of romantics hoping to find lasting love in the upcoming season of the long-running reality series.

Known for his rugged country lifestyle and love of the rodeo circuit, Dylan has already emerged as one of the most talked-about farmers ahead of the show’s return.

The self-described “larrikin” combines life on the land with an entrepreneurial streak, having founded western wear brand Outback Drover Co. in 2023 while working as a FIFO worker in the mining industry.

The idea for the business came while Dylan was driving through cattle stations in Halls Creek, where he noticed workers needed tougher and more practical clothing suited to remote conditions.

The South Australian farmer reportedly sketched the company logo himself and tested fabrics while living in a mining camp “donga”.

Despite embracing the cowboy image, Dylan’s life away from the rodeo arena includes a softer side.

The sheep farmer frequently hand-raises orphaned kangaroos and other wildlife, while also spending time sketching when he is not working on the farm or competing in rodeo events.

Seven has described Dylan as a “true thrill-seeker” who is “trading the adrenaline of the rodeo arena for the emotional highs and lows of rural romance”.

The network has also hinted viewers will see him searching for someone capable of handling the realities of country life.

While he has previously dated women from the city, Dylan admitted many enjoyed the novelty of “cute baby lambs” but struggled with the demands of day-to-day farm life.

The farmer has made it clear honesty is one of the most important qualities he wants in a relationship.

“If you tell one lie, you go on to tell ten. So, I need a partner that is just straight up and doesn’t play games.”

Dylan has also spoken about the loneliness that can come with life on the land.

He said he missed having somebody sitting beside him while driving around the property or travelling to rodeo events.

According to information released about the new season, he wants someone who is assertive and “not afraid to take the bull by the horns”.

Although based in the rural surrounds of Cherry Gardens, Dylan’s property remains close to the city, offering a blend of country living and convenience in the Adelaide Hills.

He joins four other farmers searching for romance this season, including fellow South Australians Farmer Jarrad, an almond farmer from Taylorville, and Farmer Zac, an apple farmer from Forest Range.

The full lineup for the new season also includes:

  • Farmer Alex, 28 – Kin Kin, Queensland
  • Farmer Dylan, 24 – Cherry Gardens, South Australia
  • Farmer Jarrad, 41 – Taylorville, South Australia
  • Farmer Jason, 37 – Coolabunia, Queensland
  • Farmer Zac, 24 – Forest Range, South Australia

The series is once again hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski and produced by Eureka Productions for the Seven Network.

Farmer Wants A Wife is coming soon to Seven and 7plus.
