Brittany Hockley shares emotional pregnancy announcement with podcast co-host Laura Byrne on Life Uncut

Brittany Hockley has shared an emotional pregnancy reveal video following the announcement of her pregnancy on Tuesday.

In a clip from the most recent episode of her podcast Life Uncut, Hockley reads a “review” to co-host and friend Laura Byrne.

“Britt, hearing you be so open and vulnerable about your most recent infertility news, hearing everything you guys have gone through, has made me feel so lucky,” the review reads.

“Laura, I know you worry you can’t always show up as a friend… But the way you love Britt is written all over this show,” Hockley continues.

Hockley then says the commenter has spent months listening to the hosts’ voices every day before finishing the review with an emotional confession.

“I can’t wait to spend the next six months growing and join the Life Uncut family as the newest tiny member… See you in 2027.”

Byrne appears shocked into silence at the finale of the monologue with her jaw dropping, before Hockley’s husband Ben Siegrist appears with a confetti popper to confirm the pregnancy announcement.

The sweet moment then shows a shocked Byrne hugging her friends and crying out of happiness.

“I am so happy for you guys,” Byrne says once the duo sit back down.

Hockley announced her pregnancy on Instagram on Tuesday alongside a video with her professional soccer player husband Ben Siegrist

Hockley, who rose to fame as a finalist on season six of The Bachelor with Nick Cummins, posted a video of the couple with their dog, posing in front of a Sydney harbour sunset.

The caption reads, “Can’t believe we are saying this, but it’s time for the next chapter…Baby squid is on its way!”

Hockley, 38, has been transparent about her fertility struggles, opening up on social media and her podcast Life Uncut.

In April she told Mamamia she assumed pregnancy would “just happen” for her as a health-conscious person, so she had never previously looked into fertility health before struggling to fall pregnant.

“It wasn’t information you thought you needed to access because you just assumed that when the time came, and you wanted to have a baby, you had a baby,” Hockley said.

In July, Hockley told her 300,000 followers that her not having children is “not for lack of trying,” and that her and husband Stiegrist “haven’t been able to fall pregnant.”

The podcast host then appeared on The Morning Show to discuss her brave admission following an overwhelmingly supportive public response.

“I’ve had my own fertility issues over the last few years. We’ve been trying to fall pregnant and it just hasn’t happened,” she explained on the talk show.

“Then I went down the track of making embryos. I’ve done four rounds now of egg retrievals and embryos – and in the first round, we got none.”

Hockley became an advocate for breaking the stigma around fertility discussions and reproductive grief.

“I wanted to share it because women have always felt so much shame around not being able to fall pregnant, like there’s something broken inside of us,” she said.

“I get a bit emotional thinking about it because, if you haven’t lived through it, you don’t understand the disappointment and heartache that comes every single month.”
