BINGE’s new crime saga RUN ignites buzz with star-studded launch

Stars step out in Darlinghurst for world premiere of RUN

The cast of the new BINGE original drama RUN gathered at The Cell Block Theatre in Darlinghurst on Tuesday 9 December, marking the world premiere of the series based on Australian bank robber Brenden Abbott.

Lead actors George Mason, Keiynan Lonsdale, Robyn Malcolm and Ashleigh Cummings attended the event, joined by ensemble performers David Howell, Mia Artemis, Christian Byers, Roxie Mohebbi and Oscar Redding.

Directors Ben Young and Bonnie Moir were present alongside executive producers Hamish Lewis (WBITVP) and Lana Greenhalgh (Foxtel Group). Writer Sarah Walker also appeared at the premiere, as did Abbott’s son James Abbott and former detective Glen Potter.

According to BINGE, RUN is positioned as a fast-paced crime drama set through the 1980s and 1990s, chronicling the criminal career and fugitive years of Brenden Abbott, often referred to as the Postcard Bandit. All six episodes will debut together on release.

George Mason leads the series as Abbott, starring with Robyn Malcolm, Ashleigh Cummings and Keiynan Lonsdale, who portray key people tied to Abbott’s life and the police effort to track him down.

The series also features David Howell, Mia Artemis, Christian Byers, Roxie Mohebbi, Oscar Redding, Anthony Hayes, Jayden Popik and Lee Tiger Halley, with casting by Nikki Barrett.

Production is by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia for the Foxtel Group, supported by Screenwest and the Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive, and produced in association with ITV Studios for international distribution.

The producing team includes Hamish Lewis, series producer Matt Noonan, and executive producers Michael Brooks, Ben Young, Lana Greenhalgh and Penny Win. Writing credits go to Sarah L. Walker, Matt Cameron, Scout Cripps and Anthony Hayes, based on Australian Outlaw – The True Story of Postcard Bandit Brenden Abbott by Derek Pedley.

RUN premieres 1 January at 8.30pm on Showcase, with all six episodes available the same day on BINGE and Foxtel.
