Bhumi Pednekkar’s latest sari look is proof that graphic floral prints are back in fashion. Styled by Bidipto Das, the actor wore a lilac floral-printed sari from designer Ashdeen Lilaowala’s eponymous brand to a baby shower. Lilaowala, a gara embroidery specialist, launched a collection easy-to-wear printed saris as a part of his 2026 pret drop. Called Roman Holiday, it features floral printed saris—such as that seen on Pednekkar—alongside exquisite blouses.
The Claudia satin sari seen on Pednekkar features vintage prints inspired by a bouquet of roses and spring blooms, and bows embellished with bugle beads along the border. The Minerva blouse’s fitted bustier and strap is special because of the stylised acanthus leaf appliqués—an important motif in Rococo style of architecture, often appearing on pillars as ornate decorations.
Pednekkar’s choice of multi-tiered pearl choker from jewellery brand Anayah was the perfect finishing touch to the retro look. Her beauty look mirrored the colours of the sari across the eyelids with a winged eyeliner and and a stone bindi. The textured waves in her hair added to the overall dreamy mood.
From Vogue‘s fashion desk:
“Take Pednekkar’s retro sari as inspiration to reach into your mother’s closet and choose the most graphic prints. Don’t hold back on accessorising the look. While pearls are great, coloured gemstones and crystals will work as great alternatives,” says Ashwini Arun Kumar, Vogue India fashion features editor.
