Bangladesh Women produced a disciplined all-round performance to defeat UAE Women by 34 runs in the DP World Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 at Dubai International Stadium on 8 September.

After being asked to bat, Bangladesh recovered from an early collapse to post 103/7 in their 20 overs. Sharmin Akhter led the fightback with a composed 38 off 31 balls, while captain Nigar Sultana contributed 23. Bangladesh were in trouble at 55/6 before Nahida Akter’s unbeaten 16 and a valuable lower-order partnership helped push the total past the 100-run mark.

UAE’s bowlers impressed, with Suraksha Kotte delivering an outstanding spell of 3/11 from four overs. Indhuja Nandakumar claimed 2/21, while Archara Supriya and Janani Thirukkumaran picked up a wicket each to keep Bangladesh under pressure throughout the innings.

Chasing 104, UAE never gained momentum against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack. Heena Hotchandani top-scored with 18, while Theertha Satish made 11, but wickets fell at regular intervals as Bangladesh tightened their grip on the contest.

Marufa Akter struck early with 2/9, while Rabeya Khan starred with 3/14. Nahida Akter added 2/18 as UAE were restricted to 69/9 in 20 overs, handing Bangladesh a comfortable victory and vital tournament points.
