The ABC is dipping its toe into the food competition space, announcing its latest series Recipe of the Year and, in only the way Aunty could, the Country Women’s Association is on board.
Fronted by MasterChef alumn and The Cook Up host Adam Liaw, alongside actress and Australian Survivor winner Pia Miranda, the news follows a recent casting call for home cooks for the then unannounced series from i8 Studio.

The ABC is delighted to announce that production is commencing on Recipe of the Year, a heartfelt new cooking competition series hosted by renowned cook Adam Liaw and critically acclaimed actor and food lover Pia Miranda.
Produced by i8 Studio, the series sees home cooks from all different backgrounds and walks of life whisk together the flavours, histories and stories behind the dishes that define them, in a quest to crown Australia’s Recipe of the Year.
Guiding the competition is the Country Women’s Association – custodians of community, tradition and some of the nation’s most treasured recipes – from jams and chutneys, to zucchini slices and of course their iconic scones.
Their expert judges will feature across the series, bringing a watchful eye, trusted guidance and generous encouragement along the way.

Commissioned by the ABC, the series is an i8 Studio and ABC co-production, with executive producers Josh Martin, Adam Liaw, Samantha de Alwis and Alenka Henry, alongside ABC executive producer Zoe Norton Lodge and Head of Entertainment Rachel Millar.
