And the team behind one of Adelaide’s most underrated wine bars is reminding us that we’re fully in control, ready to put on our big-girl pants and live the way being an adult should be. Enter their ‘Adult Happy Meal’. Every Thursday, for $25, the Mothervine team are serving up a cheeky combo – a juicy Mothervine burger, crispy shoestring fries, and a Mini Martini to wash it all down.
“We’re known for our burger, so it felt natural to create something playful around that. The idea was to tap into a bit of nostalgia, but elevate it to an adult crowd, something fun, satisfying, and just a little bit cheeky. And honestly, size matters… we wanted it to feel generous and live up to the hype” tells the Mothervine team.
While you might normally try to deter your kids from ordering a happy meal, the only parental figure telling you what to do around here, is Mothervine (and we’re pretty sure she’d agree that an Adult Happy Meal is good for the soul).
If the regular martini isn’t your poison of choice, don’t worry! You can take your pick from a Mini Gin Martini with a twist, a Mini Dirty Martini, a Mini Lychee Martini, or a Mini Ginny Martini – all featuring Australian Distilling Co. Gin and Vodka.
For this Happy Meal, we’ll be swapping out the headache-inducing McDonald’s playground for something far more likely to put you in a good mood as you head into the weekend. Mothervine brings the ambience alongside an extensive wine list, plus a strong cocktails and gin offering. As a finalist in the 2025 Australian Wine List of the Year Awards, you can wash down your Happy Meal with wines from here, there, and everywhere.
Despite the new deal only beginning at the end of April, the team stresses that it’s already going down a treat.
“It’s been incredible – lots of bookings and plenty of walk-ins. People really love it once they get their hands on it, which is always the goal. The energy around it has been great.”
But it doesn’t just stop at the Adult Happy Meal. This creative team – behind some of Adelaide’s most-loved venues, such as Mothervine, Lola’s Wine Bar, East End Cellars, and Station Road – tease that they’ve got plenty more out-of-the-box ideas up their sleeve.
“There are a few things in the works, but we’ll keep some of them as a surprise for our other venues. We’re always coming up with new ideas… [like] a neighbourhood menu concept at Lola’s Wine Bar that really stands out, and our full new menu launch at Station Road.”
But for now, we recommend you exercise your free will and book yourselves in for a Mothervine Happy Meal – no one’s going to stop you.
