The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) can confirm that the Ninja A-League Round 4 fixture between Melbourne City and Adelaide United scheduled for Wednesday 17 December at ctrl:cyber Pitch has been postponed.
Due to an Influenza A outbreak within a significant portion of the Adelaide United squad, the APL Chief Medical Officer along with Club Doctors have recommended that affected players should not travel and avoid participation in the fixture to protect the health of players and staff from both sides, match officials and the broader community.
Given this, the Reds have limited squad numbers available for Wednesday night’s fixture, and the decision has been made to postpone the match taking into account the APL’s competition rules and regulations which states a match can be delayed or postponed based on recommendations from medical staff.
The APL is working with both Melbourne City and Adelaide United, along with relevant partners, and will confirm the new time and date for the rescheduled match in the coming days.
