Matildas head coach Joe Montemurro has named three uncapped players in his 26-player squad for October’s friendly clashes with Germany and Haiti, with Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Courtney Newbon earning her first senior call-up.
Named the Ninja A-League Goalkeeper of the Year last season, Newbon enjoyed a standout 2025/26 campaign as Victory reached the semi-finals.
Joining the Victory keeper in the squad are former Sydney FC duo Tori Tumeth and Hana Lowry, both of whom have earned their first senior call-ups.

Tumeth has continued to impress since moving to Vancouver Rise in the Northern Super League in April while Lowry was previously selected for the Matildas squad in 2024 but suffered an ACL injury days before the camp and was unable to join the team.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who moved to Norway with Vålerenga IF earlier this year, now has another opportunity to make her senior international debut.

Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln is also in the squad having impressed for the Matildas at the 2026 AFC Asian Cup.
Meanwhile recent A-Leagues graduates Leticia McKenna, Holly McNamara and Alexia Apostolakis have also been included in the squad, with the former City trio both heading to England to join Nottingham Forest, Everton and Bristol City respectively.
Charli Grant, Alexia Apostolakis and Daniela Galic have also returned to the national team set-up, with the trio rewarded for their recent form with Malmö FF, Bristol City and Vittsjö GIK respectively.
Alanna Kennedy and Charlize Rule are unavailable for selection for the October window due to injury, while Kyra Cooney-Cross will not join the team as she continues her return to football.
Australia will open the October window against European powerhouse Germany in Karlsruhe on 9 October before facing Haiti in Chambly, France, on 13 October.

The two fixtures will provide contrasting tests for the Matildas as they continue their preparations for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“We’re really pleased with the squad we’ve selected for this window and the balance it gives us across the group,” Matildas Head Coach Joe Montemurro said.
“We have a good mix of experience, players returning to the squad and and players earning their first senior call-ups, which is important as we build towards the Women’s World Cup.
“With limited windows left, every match is an important part of our preparation. We want to use these games to strengthen our connections, build confidence and continue developing as a team.
“The two matches will offer us very different challenges. Germany will test us against one of Europe’s leading teams, while Haiti will provide a different style and perspective. Both will be valuable as we continue to prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.”
