Anand Wong Is Turning An Unlikely Beginning Into A Connected Business Ecosystem

Some careers begin with a carefully designed plan. Anand Wong’s began with necessity.

Without the financial freedom to pursue university immediately after secondary school, Wong entered the workforce at a young age. His first full-time opportunity happened to be in human resources, a field he soon discovered he genuinely loved. What initially looked like a compromise became the foundation of a career spanning local HR roles, regional and global leadership positions, multinational corporations, start-ups and, ultimately, entrepreneurship.

Today, Wong is building something far larger than an individual career. He is creating a connected ecosystem designed to bring together Services, Partnerships and Technology, with the ambition of helping businesses operate, transform and grow.

From Necessity To A Lifelong Profession

Wong’s early years taught him something that would remain central to his philosophy: meaningful careers are not always born from perfect circumstances.

He learned HR from the ground up, working at different levels and understanding the realities of organisations through experience rather than theory alone. As his career developed, he continued his studies in HR while gaining exposure to different companies, industries and working environments.

That diversity became one of his greatest professional advantages.

Rather than measuring his career simply by how long he stayed at an organisation, Wong focused on the impact he could create during his time there. Every environment offered another perspective on people, leadership, business operations and organisational challenges.

Eventually, those experiences would become the foundation for his entrepreneurial ambitions.

The Setbacks That Shaped His Leadership

Wong’s journey was not defined solely by promotions or professional milestones.

There were workplace politics, setbacks and moments of betrayal by people he trusted. Such experiences can easily alter how someone approaches leadership and relationships. For Wong, however, they became lessons rather than limitations.

He made a deliberate decision not to become bitter.

Instead, he focused on learning, improving and continuing forward.

That resilience has become an important part of his leadership philosophy. Difficult circumstances, in his view, do not determine the destination. The response to those circumstances does.

It is a mindset built around positivity, curiosity, perseverance and doing things with heart.

From HR Leadership To Entrepreneurship

Perhaps Wong’s proudest achievement is not a single award, title or business milestone. It is the journey itself.

He moved from local HR into regional and eventually global HR leadership roles across MNCs and start-ups. His professional experience eventually evolved into HR advisory work, creating a natural bridge between people, business strategy and entrepreneurship.

Over the past year, that evolution has accelerated.

Wong has been strengthening his Services business while simultaneously developing Treelis, a B2B marketplace focused on creating a global partnerships ecosystem. Beginning from Singapore, the platform is being developed with ambitions to expand across countries and regions.

Alongside this, he is also developing HRMS technology designed to support businesses across the employee lifecycle.

Individually, each initiative addresses a different business need. Together, they form something more ambitious.

Building Brick By Brick

The bigger vision is integration.

Services provide expertise. Partnerships create connections and opportunities. Technology provides infrastructure that can support businesses through different stages of their employee and organisational journeys.

Wong sees these elements not as isolated ventures, but as interconnected parts of one ecosystem.

What makes the journey particularly significant is how much of it has been built from the ground up.

There is no overnight transformation in this story. It is a brick-by-brick process shaped by determination, perseverance and a willingness to keep building even when the destination is still taking form.

For Wong, watching these different pieces gradually connect represents one of the most rewarding stages of his career.

Success That Extends Beyond Business

Wong’s ambitions ultimately reach beyond building successful companies.

He wants to create thriving communities where people and businesses grow together. His philosophy is rooted in collaboration, reflecting a belief that shared success can be more meaningful than individual achievement.

That perspective also changes the way he defines legacy.

He does not want to be remembered simply for the businesses he created. He wants to be remembered for the people he connected, the opportunities he helped create and the communities he helped bring together.

It is a definition of entrepreneurship that places relationships alongside revenue and impact alongside growth.

Trust The Journey

If Wong could speak to his younger self, his advice would be simple: trust the journey, even when the path does not make sense.

Work hard. Stay curious. Take risks. Accept setbacks. Do not be afraid to start again.

Most importantly, remain true to yourself, stay positive and resilient, and always do things with heart.

His own career offers a compelling example of why that philosophy matters. A young person who entered the workforce because university was financially out of reach discovered a profession he loved, built expertise across increasingly complex organisations and eventually transformed that experience into an entrepreneurial vision.

The next chapter is still being written.

But the direction is clear: Anand Wong is building more than businesses. He is building connections between people, companies, technology and opportunity, with the long-term ambition of creating an ecosystem capable of growing well beyond its beginnings.
