Delhi Orders Structural Audits of PGs, Tightens Safety Rules After Satya Niketan Tragedy

Following the building collapse tragedy in Satya Niketan, Delhi has moved to tighten safety rules for paying guest accommodations across the capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered structural audits and strict safety checks for all existing PGs in Delhi after visiting the site of the incident. The authorities will place a special focus on densely populated student accommodation hubs with cramped, clogged lanes, including Mukherjee Nagar, Rajinder Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Satya Niketan, and Saket.
