Evidentally, here is the plan Philly. The Eagles 2nd, 3rd, and 4th teams will lose all of the 2026 pre-season games by the slimmest of margins while Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, Devonta Smith, Cooper, DeJean, Jalen Carter and others look casually comfortable with coach-like ear-pieces on the sideline and all the while the process of the team’s finalization of a 2026 roster full of talent continues. Then — at the moment of utmost scrutiny leading up to the home opener against the Washington Commanders — the Eagles will explode on opponents — and finish the regular season 17–0.
Philadelphians across the City are feeling the possibility of a return to the Super and are saying that it may be another Championship year for the Eagles. We’ve seen what can happen when a Nick Sirianni team catches lightening in a bottle. We’ve seen this team potent on offensive and smothering on defense.
Vegas odds say the Eagles have a good chance to return to the Super Bowl. Las Vegas sees the AJ Brownless Eagles as a +1600 to hoist another Lombardi Trophy in February of 2027 — a +250 odds overall to win the NFC. One of the finest NFL Defenses combined with a star-studded offense has some analysts predicting another Lombardi Trophy for the display case in South Philly.
The national media are predicting that Philadelphia will be a top Super Bowl contender. The Eagles, Rams, and Seahawks are all favorites to win the NFC. The Eagles have owned the Rams in recent years, and Seattle has not yet faced the Eagles defense. And if the Eagles are a top seed — the Seahawks will have to leave the dome in the cold of winter to come to Philadelphia.
And none of these teams have the talent on both offense and defense to match the Eagles (Seattle and Philadelphia didn’t play last year.)
The Eagles feel confident to return to the Super Bowl, you say? Philadelphia has once again managed a masterful job of assembling a talented roster of veteran talent like Zach Baun, Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goedert and Lane Johnson; players in their prime like Jalen Hurts, Devonta Smith and Jalen Carter; young talent such as Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean and promising Draft Selections such as Makai Lemon, Uar Bernard, and Eli Stowers.
The national experts may say that the Eagles are a top contender for the Super Bowl. The 2026 roster may point to the assembled talent needed for another Super Bowl appearance. Even Vegas may favor the Eagles to return to the Super Bowl. Do I say that the Eagles are returning to the Super Bowl?
I sure hope so. But I didn’t say that. At least not quite yet.
