Once home to Ramsay Street, the Nunawading studio has found a new purpose, with the former Neighbours facility back in production and hosting a major Hollywood film.
Now known as The Studio Forest Hill, the facility has been reactivated as a production hub, with Skeletons the first film to utilise the former Neighbours studios since the soap wrapped for the second time in as many years last December.
Starring Brie Larson and produced by J.J. Abrams, Skeletons has wrapped filming across Victoria after also shooting in and around Melbourne and regional locations including the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Werribee.

The production created an estimated 635 jobs for local cast and crew, including 14 Heads of Department, as well as 50 post-production and visual effects roles.
It also injected more than $21.5 million into the Victorian economy and engaged around 300 local businesses, ranging from specialist screen businesses and medical facilities to accommodation providers and caterers.
Neighbours filmed its final scenes at the Nunawading studios on 11 July 2025, bringing the show’s long association with the facility to an end following its revival by Amazon.
Rather than leaving the studios behind, the site has now been given a new role, with The Studio Forest Hill offering production facilities for film, television and other screen projects.
The return to production comes as the future of the wider former Neighbours complex takes a very different direction.
The iconic Lassiters sets are set to be demolished, with TV City preparing to host a final fan event at the site on Saturday, 5 September.

Goodbye Lassiters will give fans one final opportunity to walk through some of the show’s most recognisable locations, including Lassiters Hotel, The Waterhole, Harold’s Cafe and The Lake.
