HBO Max has unveiled the first teaser and images from season three of The Pitt, giving fans their first proper look at the highly anticipated return of the Emmy-winning drama.
Noah Wyle is back as Dr Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, and for anyone who has become as hooked on this series as I have, the wait until January 2027 is going to be a long one.
Season two left Robby preparing to take a three-month sabbatical, with plans to hit the road on his motorcycle after a particularly difficult shift.

The new teaser picks up with Robby returning to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, and it doesn’t take long before he’s right back in the middle of the action.
He admits he knew his first day back was going to be hard, and judging by the footage, the ER hasn’t exactly become a calmer place while he’s been away.

Australian star Shabana Azeez is also returning as Victoria Javadi, joining Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Sepideh Moafi, Ayesha Harris and Shawn Hatosy in the season three cast.
There is one notable change to the familiar lineup, with Supriya Ganesh not returning as Dr Samira Mohan for season three, while Ayesha Harris has been promoted to series regular as Dr Parker Ellis after appearing in a recurring role in season two.
Azeez is also having a big week here in Australia, starring alongside Hugo Weaving in SBS’s new drama The Airport Chaplain as airport boss Mira Ansari-Cole in the eight-part series, which premieres this week on SBS and SBS On Demand.

The only downside to getting this first look is that we now have to wait until January 2027 for the new season. Until then, the first two seasons of The Pitt are streaming now, making this a good time to catch up ahead of its return.
