Nawazuddin Siddiqui has resumed work on Tumbbad 2, one of his much-awaited upcoming projects. The actor has started shooting for the next schedule of the horror drama in Satara after completing the first schedule in June. His return to the sets comes soon after he wrapped up a US stage tour with his daughter Shora Siddiqui.

Nawazuddin had travelled across the US with Shora for their stage play Naqaab. Following the completion of the international tour, the actor has returned to India and moved directly into the next leg of filming for Tumbbad 2. The development comes as anticipation continues to build around the sequel to the 2018 cult horror film Tumbbad.
According to a source, “After successfully touring across the US with his stage play Naqaab alongside his daughter Shora Siddiqui, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has now started shooting for the next schedule of Tumbbad 2 in Satara. The first schedule of the much-anticipated sequel to Tumbbad was completed in June, and the team has now resumed work on the next leg of the shoot.”
The actor’s schedule reflects his continued involvement in both theatre and cinema. While Naqaab gave Nawazuddin an opportunity to share the stage with his daughter during the US tour, he has now shifted his focus back to the demanding shoot of Tumbbad 2.
The first schedule of the sequel was completed in June, marking an important phase in the production. With the Satara schedule now underway, the team is expected to continue building the film’s story and visual world. Further details about the shoot, storyline and other aspects of the project are being kept under wraps at present.
Tumbbad 2 follows the success of Tumbbad, the Rahi Anil Barve-directed 2018 film that starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role of Vinayak Rao. The original film, known for its atmospheric horror, mythology and distinctive visual treatment, developed a strong following over the years.
The sequel has consequently emerged as one of the most anticipated projects associated with the franchise. Nawazuddin’s return to the role has further heightened interest among fans, although the makers are yet to reveal extensive details about the narrative and release plans.
