Life Alive has expanded its footprint with a new café in the Seaport.

The organic café opened its 14th Massachusetts location Tuesday at 200 Seaport Boulevard in Commonwealth Pier, adding another outpost for its grain bowls, salads, and smoothies. To mark the opening, the Seaport spot is serving an exclusive “By the Sea” matcha made with blue spirulina, maca, vanilla, sea salt, oat milk, and maple vanilla cold foam. The drink is available free with any purchase at the Seaport location on Tuesday only, and available for purchase through Aug. 31.
Similar to the chains other locations, the new café features a bright, colorful interior. It also includes a large-scale mural from Boston artist Destiny Palmer, patio seating, and an organic espresso bar.
The popular local chain first opened in Lowell in 2004. It later expanded to Cambridge and Salem, and in 2015, was bought by Act III Holdings, an investment firm run by Panera Bread and Au Bon Pain founder Ron Shaich. There are now 14 locations in Massachusetts, two in Virginia, and one in Washington, D.C.
