A night of non-stop dancing, DJs, and live dance performances is set to take over Mr Kims Nightclub for one night only as Tridis Productions brings Habibi Mou to Adelaide on Friday July 17.
“It’s a night where all cultures can get together to create this Greek-Lebanese night in Adelaide. We run it in Melbourne, we run it in Sydney, and they’re always sold out shows,” Tridis Productions director Annette Triantafylidis said.
She said the name Habibi Mou was born from the coming together of her Lebanese heritage and her husband’s Greek background – the two cultures the event celebrates.
“Habibi in Arabic means darling, and in Greek, Mou means my – so it’s like ‘my darling’, because that’s what we call our son,” she told Glam Adelaide.
The event will feature live musicians, DJs, drummers, and belly dancers, bringing together the music, dancing and traditions of the two cultures.
“All these guys that I’ve got on board are up and coming artists within the industry. I’m giving them a platform and opportunity to showcase what they do,” Annette said.
The event will feature Lebanese singer and keyboardist Nibal, as well as renowned Lebanese drummers Alain and Joseph. Annette said their energetic performances have made them favourites within the local community as they bring the vibrancy of Lebanon to Adelaide.
“They’re well known in Adelaide for their spirit and passion,” Katerina Kotrotsos, who helped Tridis Productions with the event in Adelaide, said.
The lineup also features percussionist Jerry Tee, Shabeb Live Band, DJ JayK, and clarinet player Michael, who Katerina said “brings the element of the Greek spirit.”
“He’s a well-known clarinet player, he has played at a lot of Greek nights, the crowd loves him, and he brings his own charisma and passion for the Greek music,” she said.

Although the event celebrates Lebanese and Greek culture, organisers said that it is designed for everyone.
“Everyone’s welcome. The theme is Lebanese Greek night, but the actual event is open to anyone that wants to experience that vibe,” Annette said.
“It’s all about getting people together, it’s all about connecting and expressing ourselves.
“There’s no borders of separation when it comes to music.”
And after the success of previous sold-out events interstate, the team behind Tridis Productions hope Habibi Mou will become much more than a one-off Adelaide event.
“It’s just a night where all cultures can get together and just really enjoy music, because that’s what really unites everybody, right?,” Annette said.
“My aim in my business is to bring all cultures and all people together to enjoy music as it is, and just really make people happy.”
