KTR dares Revanth Reddy to face fresh polls, cites CM’s internal survey predicting 78 seats for BRS

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday stepped up his attack on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging that the Congress government has lost public confidence and daring him to seek a fresh mandate from the people.

Claiming that an internal survey allegedly conducted by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s camp projected 78 Assembly seats for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KTR challenged the Chief Minister to publicly deny the findings. He said that if the Congress government was confident about its performance, it should dissolve the Assembly, conduct bypolls to seats vacated by defected legislators, or immediately hold pending local body elections.

The BRS leader asserted that growing public dissatisfaction with the Congress government was reflected in the alleged survey findings and maintained that the people of Telangana were prepared to return the BRS to power.

Turning to irrigation issues, KTR accused the state government of failing to effectively utilise Godavari waters through the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. He claimed that reservoirs in the Godavari basin could be filled by lifting water from Kannepalli without depending on the Medigadda barrage and alleged that the government was allowing substantial quantities of water to flow downstream despite concerns over a potential drought situation.

Accusing the Congress government of neglecting farmers’ interests, KTR demanded the immediate operation of pump houses to lift Godavari waters and ensure adequate irrigation supplies. He warned that the BRS would launch a statewide agitation in the coming weeks if the government failed to take corrective measures.

KTR also hit back at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks targeting senior BRS leader T Harish Rao. Defending his party colleague, he described Harish Rao as a disciplined and committed leader who has remained with the BRS since its inception.

He further accused the Chief Minister of resorting to politically motivated personal attacks instead of addressing governance-related issues raised by the opposition.
