Melbourne Victory defender Brendan Hamill will remain with the club for the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season after signing a new contract.
The experienced centre-back has extended his stay with Victory, where he first arrived in July 2021, and will continue to form part of the club’s defensive unit under new Head Coach Giovanni Savarese.
Hamill made his long-awaited return from an ACL injury in the final round of the 2025-26 regular season after spending the majority of the campaign sidelined.

Brendan Hamill of Melbourne Victory leaves the field injured
Across two spells with the club, the 33-year-old has made 46 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances and will now benefit from having a full pre-season.
“I am really happy to extend my time at a place that means a lot to me and in an environment that brings the best out of me professionally,” said Hamill after inking his new deal.
“It is no secret that the past year was challenging. It tested me in ways I had not previously experienced, but it has, without a shadow of a doubt, made me stronger.
He added: “Now I am raring to go for the next challenge and doing everything I can for my teammates, the staff and our fans to ensure we win.”

Victory Director of Football John Didulica said Hamill’s influence extended well beyond his time on the pitch last season.
“Despite being sidelined for the majority of the last campaign, Brendan – as part of the leadership group – was integral to setting standards in the playing group and we were all delighted to see him take to the field in the final round of the regular season.
“He provides genuine experience of the competition and of playing in Asia, which will be vital in the months ahead.”
Hamill’s contract extension continues a busy off-season for Victory.
Following confirmation Venezuelan boss Savarese had been recruited to replace former Head Coach Arthur Diles, the club then set about tying down some of it’s existing talent.
With new contracts signed and sealed for striker Charles Nduka and goalkeeper Jack Warshawsky, Victory also then signed towering forward Harry Sawyer from Macarthur Bulls as well as poaching Harry Shillington from rivals Melboue City.
Furthermore, defender Franco Lino will also be staying in Victoria after extending his loan from Norwegin side FK Viking for another season.
