ABC drops first look at new globe trotting STUFF THE BRITISH STOLE

Marc Fennell is heading back into the archives, museums and awkward corners of colonial history as Stuff The British Stole returns to ABC for a third season this June.

The award winning documentary series will again follow Fennell across the globe as he investigates some of the British Empire’s most controversial acquisitions, this time spanning locations across the Caribbean, Asia and Egypt.

Across six new episodes, the series traces the stories behind significant cultural objects and the communities still pushing for their return, mixing history, politics and personal stories with the show’s trademark humour and curiosity.

Marc Fennell, Executive Producer, Director, Creator and Host of the series, said the new season was the biggest production the team had tackled yet after filming across eight countries and around Australia over two years.

“It’s a proper global adventure, and honestly some of my favourite mysteries we’ve ever chased.”

Based on the hit podcast of the same name, Stuff The British Stole has become one of ABC’s standout factual titles, with season two averaging close to one million viewers per episode and earning multiple industry awards.

The new season also promises larger scale visual effects, more ambitious storytelling and a collection of colourful characters Fennell says helped make the series one of the most entertaining productions he has worked on.

The series is produced by Wooden Horse, WildBear Entertainment and Artemis Media for ABC, with Fremantle handling local distribution and international sales.

Executive producers include Richard Finlayson and Jude Troy for Wooden Horse, Alan Erson and Michael Tear for WildBear Entertainment, and Celia Tait for Artemis Media.
