Ticker News has today announced the launch of a new flagship program, Media Movers, hosted by respected media writer and industry expert James Manning. The show will explore the rapid evolution of the Australian media landscape, shining a light on how the industry is evolving and creative solutions shaping the future.

Media Movers premieres this week on the Ticker News network, streaming globally across TV, the Ticker website, and the app with Melissa Hey, Chief Investment Officer at WPP Media Australia and New Zealand, and Simon Ryan, CEO of RyanCap, guests on the first month of episodes.

The program is designed to go beyond the headlines, offering a deep dive into the rapid transformation of the media industry, both in Australia and globally. Each episode will feature in-depth conversations with industry leaders, providing viewers with tangible insights into the evolving media landscape from senior leaders across the industry.

Ahron Young and Ticker are providing a wonderful opportunity on their platform to analyse and investigate where the media industry is headed and what is working for the players, big and small, as they face an ever-changing landscape,” said James Manning, host of Media Movers.

“The Media Movers show will allow us to get immediate answers to some tough questions from the major players who will join us regularly on the show.”

Manning has long been one of the sector’s most well known and respected commentators having run leading industry title Mediaweek for 25 years and has more recently written for The Australian and remains a contributor at leading industry title Mumbrella.

He also previously launched and co-hosted a media business show on Sky News Business, which successfully ran for a decade, interviewing chief executives from all Australian media companies and also broadcasting live from the UK and the US and from major media launches and upfront events around Australia.

CEO of Ticker and Ticker Studios Ahron Young said:

Media is going through one of the most significant periods of change we’ve ever seen. What we wanted to create with Media Movers is a show that doesn’t just report on that change, but speaks directly to the people driving it, from leaders inside major television networks to founders building the next generation of media companies.

“This is about understanding where the industry is heading, not where it’s been. There’s a real opportunity to take a positive, forward-looking view at a time when so much is shifting.”

James is the perfect person to lead that conversation. He understands the industry inside out, he’s respected across the sector, and he’s been a supporter of Ticker since day one, hosting one of our very first programs back in 2019. It’s fantastic to have him back on the network.
