A Western Massachusetts man won a “$2,500 a Week for Life” grand prize and plans to use the winnings to support his expectant wife’s first child, the Massachusetts State Lottery announced.

Dylan Jacobus, of Otis, chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $2 million, before taxes.

The father-to-be told lottery officials he “is grateful to have this opportunity to put us in the right direction and set us up for success.”

The “$2,500 a Week for Life” $10 instant ticket was purchased at Big Y Express in Westfield. The store will receive a $26,000 bonus for the ticket sale, lottery officials said.

Had he chosen the other option, Jacobus would have received $2,500 every week for the rest of his life, according to state laws.
