Two additional voice cast members have been revealed for the ongoing Nippon Sangoku TV anime series. The anime began broadcasting in Japan on April 7, 2026.
The new cast members consist of Ryota Takeuchi, who voiced Elias Ainsworth from The Ancient Magus Bride, as Go Sugo (left) and Shunsuke Takeuchi, who currently voices Kenshiro from 2026’s Fist of the North Star: Hokuto no Ken, as Shiryo Nagamine (right).

They join an anime voice cast that includes:

- • Asami Seto as Saki Higashimachi
- • Takashi Nagasako as Denki Taira
- • Megumi Han as the narrator
- • Jun Fukuyama as Yoshitsune Asama
- • Kazuhiro Yamaji as Mitsuhide Ryumon
- • Yuichi Nakamura as Yasuaki Kaku
- • Taihi Kimura as Fuji III
- • Minami Tsuda as Oga Wajima
Kazuaki Terasawa (The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2) is directing the anime series, with Takahiko Abiru (Vinland Saga) as character designer and chief animation director and Teruko Utsumi (Sarazanmai co-series composer) as series composer. Studio Kafka is handling the animation production.
Other staff includes Seiki Tamura (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2) as background art director, Yuko Kobari (The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2) as color designer, Hayato Kifune (Goddess of Victory: Nikke anime PV co-compositing director) as compositing director, and Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss) as music composer.
The military drama manga series by Ikka Matsuki began serialization on Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday website and Manga ONE app on November 24, 2021. Seven tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of April 2026.

Amazon’s Prime Video licensed the Nippon Sangoku anime series for streaming in several countries and territories. It describes the main synopsis as:
The story depicts the near future of Japan, where revolution arose from nuclear war, natural disasters, and corrupt governance, where civilization has collapsed. The nation has split into three, entering an era of warring states vying for supremacy. Aoteru Misumi, once a humble local government official, aims for the “reunification of Japan,” rising through the ranks with his vast knowledge and exceptional eloquence.
